Just saw the bodycam footage for the second one. It's a bit grainy but it looks like the girl who got shot was attacking the girl in pink.

Her family's story is SHE called for help from the police as she was being attacked by multiple females.
When the police arrived, or soon after, she was pushed to the ground. I know I heard one cop say "Stay down."
She then got up, armed with a knife and tried to stab one of those other females........and was shot.
Her aunt says "She was a good girl." or something to that affect.
The MSM is trying to spin this as indicative of how the police mishandle calls involving people of a certain skin color.

Now I've seen the neighbor's footage.
It was a good shoot. He was trying to protect the life of the girl in pink.
A taser would have have taken too long, is way less accurate, and might not have been effective.
Jumping in to break it up would have put his life at risk and probably wouldn't have been fast enough to save the girl in pink from injury or worse. In the body cam footage, it looks like he's shooting point blank but with the neighbor's footage, you can see that he was 10 or so feet away.

but..........
Can you envision a family situation where your choice is a relative that is yet again in the news/papers for their miscreant lifestyle choices?......or a major payday because of the environment that's been created?
I got a few I'd trade for a few coupons, to be honest.

I agree in spirit.
But what if your kid is a total bad seed? Do you go to the ends of the Earth defending their every action?
I sometimes marvel at how differently siblings can be........ theoretically it's the same DNA, same parents, same environment......but often very different results and outcomes.

I could borrow a line from Bill Burr and say "I've got dogs....so it's about the same..." 
but it's more funny to me how often I think you and I come so close to the same conclusions....... just thru very different paths.
I was explaining to a newer buddy of mine, who's very religious but going thru some terrible family strife........ how when it comes to family/blood, you really don't have a choice in the love. Your parents? your siblings? You love them, of course.
The only thing is as an adult you have to decide whether or not you can allow them into your daily life.
