If you have a mouthful of teeth shaped by a childhood in poverty, don’t go knocking on the door of American privilege.

Dental insurance is a joke in this country. I need an implant because of some accidents when I was a kid and the whole thing will cost me close to 5k, with insurance. But hey, those folks at the top all gotta be able to afford their own islands, so I get it.

Just 5K?
IIRC, that's about the typical Deductible for actual paying customers that sign up for the Affordable Care Act.

There are plenty of plans where you're paying out 15k including premiums and deductibles before the insurance starts picking up the tab. Not sure it was much better before the ACA either.

but Joe! It says 'Affordable' right there in the name! Obama was very pro-corporate and especially Wall St. It's kind of a mystery that you don't like him.

I am paying $661/mo for Kaiser My meds are around $50 every 3 months(covering 4 prescriptions). $25 for an office visit. Where is this $5000 deductible you speak of? If I spend too much out of pockets, they return money to me.

She's retired now. Kaiser is a insurance brand offered in her state. It sounds decent........though $600/month does not
People are responsible for a certain amount before the medical insurance will kick in for the remaining balances. Ours has been in the $5,000/year range for awhile. I recently heard someone that signed onto the ACA that their amount is $23,000/year. But both of those minimums kinda make me chuckle at a nation where people claim they can't come up with $400 in an emergency. And those TV ads for the ACA where people pay as little a $0/month? Hilarious.........but merh seems fine with it.

Cobra ran 18 months Calcobra only covers medical so i had to buy my dental at $46/mo through my retirement association They sent me a letter saying my dentist (who I haven't seen) was off the plan so screw around an hour switching. Then the one I switched to was at lunch. Then I made the appt. Then they call back to say they are off the plan. (?) So when I called the insurance thought I was with these guys so they are apparently the ones off the plan. I call the insurance back. Back to my original dentist Then I get to ACA for a year until I am eligible for Medicare unless the asswipes in the House have their way My Kaiser is Then apparently going to be $1000/mo unless I can score better on the ACA

Kaiser is an HMO. One only goes in house for doctors so costs are controlled. The dental thing was apparently an HMO thing as well. The one off the plan was actually never on the HMO so the plan screwed up saying they were & screwed up giving me them.instead of the guy I signed up for Yes, we need national Healthcare.

Didn't the states only screw Obamacare up because the red ones declined to expand Medicaid?
