Going swimmingly. (Where's my copy of Sicario to watch?)
Associated Press Gang leader freed in Mexico prison attack that killed 17 Mon, January 2, 2023 at 12:39 PM CST
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican authorities on Monday raised the death toll from an attack on a state prison in Ciudad Juarez across the border from El Paso, Texas to 17, a brazen operation that appeared designed to free the leader of a local gang.
Twenty-five inmates escaped in the attack.
Security Secretary Rosa Icela Rodríguez said 10 of the dead were prison guards who were attacked by gunmen who arrived early Sunday in armored vehicles and fired on the entrance and inside dormitories.
Rodríguez identified the inmates who escaped as being with the Mexicles gang, which she associated with the Caborca Cartel. She said the Mexicles' leader was among the fugitives. The Mexicles have been one of Juarez's main gangs for decades and for many years were known to work with the Sinaloa Cartel.

Has Mexico declared a "war on drugs"?

These bros are just brazenly attacking airports, prisons, and military called in to help. They ain't playin down there. Maybe we should think about getting rid of some of the corruption in the US lest we devolve into something similar.

When we first came to San Diego in the 80s we were warned about going to Mexico, that they believed all Americans were rich. That cops would.pull over Americans to ticket them on false offenses, but offer the American to "pay the ticket/bribe" so the American wouldn't have to be arrested. You think we are at that level?

That kind of stuff happens everywhere. Gangs of thugs openly engaging and winning firefights at places like prisons and airports is probably where we're headed if we won't fix things.
