Apparently he created a company which people donated to which he then used to fund his campaign which violates campaign finance laws.

But who cares?

Who cares if his money came from.Russia or China or Iran?

He won!

Do you know how funny I find it that such immoral people involved in politics have the gall to call anyone else out for immoral behavior these days? Campaign finance laws? Because everything is so above board and beyond reproach in politics? My arse.

I don't care one bit. Whether it's before they get elected or after. Foreign money will buy them anyway. You know it's true.

Tha'ts all that matters anymore. Just win. By hook or by crook. Fill out ballots for elderly dementia patients? Why not? Hand out cigs for homeless in exchange for ballots? Great! Organize and ballot harvest for all it's worth? Anything to win? INDEED! It's what real democracy looks like.

I have seen both dead people and people in custody of the law get elected. It's a little late to pretend anyone has a moral compass anymore.

Heck, not so long ago people regularly called Cheney and Bush Jr. 'war criminals' for killing brown folks.

Dead people getting elected is usually they died after the ballots were printed. Sometimes it's the party pushes voting for the person because it will force a special election.

Cheney was not a nice guy.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Newly released transcripts from the U.S. House January 6 committee shed further light on Utah Sen. Mike Lee’s role in a plan to put forward fake electors in an attempt to overturn Joe Biden’s victory.

In an interview May 18, conservative lawyer Cleta Mitchell told the United States House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack that the alternate elector plot hatched in the aftermath of the 2020 election was “Mike Lee’s idea.”

Ultimately, that plan did not move forward, and Lee voted to certify the election results after the attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump. But according to the transcript from Mitchell’s interview, which was just released Friday, Lee began thinking of ways to overturn the results right after the election was called for Biden.

“I suspect that the only way to win this election would involve identifying systemic fraud,” Lee wrote to Mitchell in a text message, according to the interview transcript.

According to the transcript, Lee and Mitchell discussed “Congress being the court of last resort,” and Lee indicated having an alternate slate of electors would be “the sweet spot” for getting his Republican colleagues in the Senate to engage.

Pressed later in the interview on the alternate elector plan, Mitchell said “there were a group of people who were discussing that. I don’t know that it was – it wasn’t my idea. It was actually Mike Lee’s idea.”

Lee has downplayed his role in the matter, saying in an October debate with then-challenger Evan McMullin that he was simply investigating “rumors” that “some states were considering switching out their slates of electors.”

The sheer amount of money spent on elections these days would actually cure many of the problems people are trying to get elected to solve. Think on that.

I'll just keep saying it, no matter how offended you are. Lifelong renters have a different set of priorities. I just posted a NYTimes article on yet another 'affordable housing' fiasco. And the level of entitlement on these people is amazing.

It's about party loyalty and power grabbing.

Creating a set of alternate electors isn't the same as hoping an elector switches a vote.

Saying you hate someone & hoping they drop dead isn't the same as killing the person oneself.

I can ONLY affect my local politics with my single vote.
I can join a campaign if I care to try to influence others to vote.

I HAVE NO POWER OVER OTHER JURISDICTIONS.

George Santos' latest dubious claim appears to involve a COVID-19 diagnosis from 2020.

The timeline of testing positive and getting sick differs in various retellings of the story.

His descriptions of the severity of his illness have also changed over time, per The Daily Beast.

Rep. George Santos has been accused of fabricating much of his life story, and the hits keep on coming.

On Tuesday, The Daily Beast reported that his latest dubious claim revolves around a COVID-19 diagnosis at the start of the pandemic.

The first case of COVID-19 in New York was confirmed on March 1, 2020, and Santos claimed in a conservative podcast that he became symptomatic with the virus just over a week later.

"Unfortunately on the 9th of March I became symptomatic with what we all know now very well, COVID-19 a.k.a coronavirus, commonly known as the Chinese flu," he said. "On the 11th I ended up in the hospital. It was really bad, fever, body aches."

Santos said he was taken to a hospital in Queens, New York, by ambulance and spent around five hours there in isolation. He said he then had a high fever and hallucinations for several days, ultimately testing positive on March 14.

The Republican said he tested negative on March 26. "So, I'm free, coronavirus free, so they're calling me a survivor," he said. "I don't know if I really survived anything. It's just flu."



However, later retellings of his experience, both in terms of severity and timeline, appear to be at odds with what he said on the podcast, The Daily Beast reported.

On the day that Santos said he received his positive test, and was bedridden with a fever, his campaign put out a press release on the unfolding COVID crisis, including a quote from Santos. It didn't mention his illness.

Four days later, Santos appeared on Fox Business, showing no signs of the disease.

Meanwhile, in a September 2020 interview with local outlet The Island Now, Santos said the hospital only provided him with a recommendation of taking Advil or Aleve.



And on March 5, 2021, Santos posted on Twitter that it was his anniversary of being admitted to hospital for COVID-19 — six days earlier than the initial date he gave.

The Washington Post journalist Dan Diamond was the first to report on his personal Substack that there were discrepancies in dates and details in Santos' retelling of his coronavirus diagnosis.

Insider contacted Santos' office for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

In recent weeks, Santos has been accused of lying about his employment, educational history, and heritage.
