I actually saw more guys grifting. The whole dating model came when? When women didn't work? When the date was used as a means of screening to find a wife? So how were women in 1940 supposed to pay for half the tab? As women started working, it has become a thing for the tab to be split 50/50. The NY dude on the morning show I catch says his idea of a date is coffee. He would invite his dates for coffee. So romantic & expensive! He admitted it was because he's cheap.
any chance you could keep it to sometime in the last 30-40 years?
The model for dating goes back a ways. I simply pointed out the Model of the man paying goes back to a time when women didn't have money. Once women started having jobs thanks to feminism, they started going 50/50 on dates. You think the guy on my morning show isn't within the last 5 yrs?

And she's usually the one pointing out the plight of all those poor homeless people........while ignoring the percentages of gender involved? That's just a coincidence? Men? Because women will prostitute themselves for a roof over their heads more often than guys?My clients had to work. We would get people, usually women, who would explain their living situation as "doing stuff" for the homeowner for room & board.
That's the Power of the Vagina, right there

And most of the women dating now weren't even alive back then.
I think you're mistaken. many of them still feel it is the man's responsibility to provide for them.
That's why I've mentioned several times being disappointed in feminism overall.

BECAUSE THE MODEL WAS CREAYED THEN? SO FOLLOWING THE MODEL MEANS THE GUY PAYS? Or the person who asks. I always thought the person who invites pays. If the gal invites, she pays. "Would you like to meet me" sort of suggests the asker is offering. Not to mention NOT ALL WOMEN BUY INTO FEMINISM. If you are dating a gal who voices distaste for feminism, who says she isn't a feminism, why would you expect her traditionalist ass to pay her own way? LOTS OF GUYS live off the women in their lives. You, for example. You say you split 50/50. So she has tons of money in the bank, or she buys the extras? My husband made less than me several times. Lived on unemployment for a couple years a couple times while I worked my ass in that laundry & with my government job. He liked his long "vacations" And a lot of my clients were perfectly content to watch Oprah on their baby mama's couch, living off her welfare money. So stuff it. You love to paint women as lazy sponges, but lots if guys are as well. I worked with a gal who let the meth-head father of her youngest child live in her garage or he would have been homeless.

Are the majority of people really embracing many things from back in that era? Sounds a bit MAGA to me.
That IS how it used to be in those olde sexist days when men/pigs EXPECTED something in return for their paying. But today? In these days of feminism and equality? I would think just to make sure nobody gets the wrong idea about intentions or expectations......women would make sure to pick up their share of the bill.
I would expect a woman to expect to pay for her meal........unless I expressly told her ahead of time that I'd pick up the entire tab.
The wife and I usually take turns paying.....cuz we know where the other person lives.
I can not convince my wife to let me vacay or retire even though her income is now more than enough to cover both of our expenses. She's weird and sexist like that, I guess.
Living off of other peoples' welfare money? The Devil you say? That hardly ever goes on, right?
When it comes to welfare fraud.........i'd say it's about 50/50 with the genders......though, the ladies tend to have more $ thrown at them by all the programs. Which may be why the dudes sponge off of them.
What do you suppose she found so appealing about him that she made another baby with him?

Her husband/father if her first 2 kids died. They were separated & talking divorce when he vanished. His body was found in the car in a lake when the winter overflow went down. He had gone off the road, a 2 lane highway that didn't get much traffic that time of year. The next dude resembled Chuck Norris. They had a kid together. He was an addict. He finally cleaned up & she got him a job with the government. Then he got lymphoma & died. Co-worker had to work so she watched him some of the time, his mom the rest. He wanted his life insurance to go to the kid. His mom got him to change the beneficiary to her. Money. And I said I have worked with many gals supporting guys. But go on thinking it's the women who are sponges.

I've told you scheming and graft are a part of people in all walks of life. I've seen no less than 4-5 families get torn asunder after a death/inheritance argument in recent years.
I will go on believing it's much more easy and far more prevalent for females to sponge off guys rather than the other way around. Yes, they both do it. I'm doing it right now, right?
And why wouldn't they? After a few years of watching the welfare get handed out in record amounts? This is the result of such policies and approach. Democracy is done for.

Doesn't fit your narrative BUT THEY DONT NEED TO GO TO COLLEGE!!! The work environment has changed. They aren't able to survive as they did in years past Like the opioid crisis fueled by despair

Non-college-educated men have seen their pay shrink by more than 30% since 1980 compared to the average earnings of all other prime-age workers. Their weekly earnings have declined 17%, while those of college-educated men rose by 20%, adjusting for inflation. That earnings loss has caused a decline in their social status, prompting them to walk away from work entirely, Pinghui Wu, the author of the study, wroteBUT THEY DONT NEED TO GO TO COLLEGE!!! so you're still buying the propaganda? Maybe those guys didn't go to college......but didn't exactly take up a trade or acquire a skill worthy of higher pay, too? Like me.
The work environment changed because we shipped a ton of manufacturing overseas. We're now a 'Service Oriented' society.......too bad we suck at service.
Despair? or too much partying? Notice, they find the money for opioids.

These guys listened to the guys you listened to that told them they didn't need college yet they find themselves at a lower status than the white collar college educated guys Isn't that the story? Status? Who gives a crap about status? You think a banker or investment manager is more important in your life than a plumber or a mechanic?
It's tough to argue all the student loan debt is worth the trouble and extra income ON PAPER still, isn't it?
There's many stories to choose from. Depends which ones you wanna believe. My point was most Americans always seem to find enough money for their wants/vices..........but never enough for their needs/necessities. And enabling them with BS excuses regarding addictions and whatnot is not helping the matter. Uniquely American? That's just another term for a special kinda stupid.

Yet that banker can work well into his 70s or 80s if he chooses while that plumber is probably in pain & taking medication because of the physical work. That mechanic as well. REPEAT FROM WIKIPEDIA So knee pain. Surgery needed. Insurance won't pay for that, just meds. Here, take a pill. Work thru the pain so the joint gets more damage Meanwhile that banker in sitting in a chair, maybe the job pays for a gym membership & premium health insurance that probably would pay for that knee.

There's also the thing many don't realize, when it comes to knees......... insurance/doctors prefer to wait until people are older because you can only replace it so many times.
We're a pill popping society. No doubt about that.
Let me just repeat myself, too.........going into a field that's going to be hard on your body, YOU have to realize you likely can't do it forever, so make arrangements. Become a supervisor. owner/boss yourself.

Carefully notice how that 'paycheck to paycheck' hardly changes no matter how much the typical American makes. They start making a ton more money? They go out and spend a ton more money. THAT's how they've been trained. I have at least 2 buddies that blow thru money like nobody's business.....and they can't ever seem to stop. And they're both coming up on retirement age......so what's the solution?
Cobra is crazy expensive. I couldn't believe it when I heard. My wife is very worried about that gap between retiring.......and being covered by Medicare/etc
Think on this little nugget..........the typical American doesn't have $400 in an Emergency. So what shot do they have at Cobra or the ACA deductible? mush less, the typical auto they own is an SUV. Have you checked out the price on a new set of 16" tires all around? That's easily $1200 or more. And they don't have that either. Credit Cards/Loans. That's HOW they live.

My cobra is $613/mo. My dental is $46/mo. But the American Healthcare system is perfect. The tire I bought for my truck was $160. Too many people just can't catch a break

I wasn't aware 'perfect' existed anywhere people were involved.
After watching several series based in other countries (with UHC) I'm still not convinced they're better or happier.
Believe it or not, you may have gotten off cheap with that tire.
You make your own breaks often enough.

merh, in your entire life............when have you seen Govt successfully get a program together and actually lower prices on anything? Hammers in the military? $2500/yr savings from the ACA? And you don't get to count something you receive subsidized.........because that's just shifting the cost to others. It's NOT delivering on the promise of actually lowering costs.
Well, I'm glad they're treating you right.
