figured I'd take a look at the numbers again.
The US (best doctors and hospitals in the world) is still running at about a 1.1% mortality rate while countries with slightly (ever so slightly) worse doctors but have UHC are fairing much better. It seems that people who can get help don't die as often as people who can't afford lifesaving help. Who knew?
Are there countries out there fudging their numbers to make themselves look better than they are?
Yup, but you have to remember, THAT makes Covid more dangerous than it appears, not less.
In the end, all anyone ever had to do was follow the advice your mom gave you as a kid: wash your hands, cover your face, and stay away from sick people (wash/mask/distance), rather than the advice of twisted Trumpanzees who went around spitting on people... which I would consider murder/attempted murder.

1. wash your hands: Yes. 2. cover your face: Yes. 3. and stay away from sick people: Oh, sick people. I didn't realize it was just sick people... my bad.
