They are good for you! And, the way I cook them, sauteed in olive oil with sweet red peppers and red onions, with a touch of garlic and butter, is so tasty! My Dad and I regularly teased each other on holiday meals that I prepared - he pretended he didn't like them but in reality, he loved them! I would fuss at him to eat his vegetables, just like he did when I was a kid. I just yesterday bought the ingredients for that dish and may have that tonight with fresh baked salmon in teriyaki sauce. With a crisp, cold Gin & Tonic, a perfect meal!

I do enjoy vegetables and salads. Carrots, corn and peas are a nice side dish, as is iceberg lettuce, with finely chopped onions and tomatoes and a very light drizzle of mayonnaise. I find that as I grow older, my tolerance for "fast foods" is steadily diminishing. While I still enjoy pizzas, I seriously struggle with the rest... When I was young, my five food groups were McDonald's, Burger King, Barnacle Bill's, KFC and Pizza Hut...

I find that as I grow older, my tolerance for "fast foods" is steadily diminishing. While I still enjoy pizzas, I seriously struggle with the rest... When I was young, my five food groups were McDonald's, Burger King, Barnacle Bill's, KFC and Pizza Hut... LOL ! I have only two choices for 'fast food'; Taco Bell has a black bean crunch wrap that is honestly quite good, and then McDonalds' filet-o-fish meal which includes fries and a small Coke. And that is tasting more and more like cardboard and is more expensive than it is worth in nutrients. Oh, wait, Sonic has jalapeno cheese poppers and a root beer float, but the price is higher than buying two fresh salmon filets at the grocery store to bake at home. You can't go wrong with corn and peas, especially combined; they are a grain and a legume paired which forms a complete plant protein. It has all the amino acids. I prefer romaine lettuce, and kale mixed for salad with tomatoes, red peppers, onions and carrot shreds with a bit of cheese and Caesar salad dressing. Olives, too. Pizza Hut has a Veggie Lover's delight pizza that is the only one I will eat. But mostly, I fix simple things at home; vegetable soup loaded with fresh veggies, and multi-grain toast with butter. And an egg every day, with veggies added. Corn popped in olive oil is a nice light snack that is savory. I lost my sweet tooth during chemo, so anything sweet is rare. The older I get, the lazier I become with my culinary projects... or perhaps it is because I am mixing milk replacer incessantly throughout the day for kittens and a goat... sigh... But kittens are my bliss! What? No kitty emojis?

Why does it have three gnarly penises? Triffid experts think the triffids use the wooden stumps to rattle against their boles to communicate with other triffids.
