Alabama pausing executions after 3rd failed lethal injectionJAY REEVES Mon, November 21, 2022 at 11:13 AM
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey sought a pause in executions and ordered a “top-to-bottom” review of the state's capital punishment system Monday after an unprecedented third failed lethal injection.
Ivey's office issued a statement saying she had both asked Attorney General Steve Marshall to withdraw motions seeking execution dates for two inmates and requested that the Department of Corrections undertake a full review of the state's execution process.
Ivey also requested that Marshall not seek additional execution dates for any other death row inmates until the review is complete.

I have posted before that every police evidence room probably has some fentanyl or heroin that using a thimble full of would not taint that case, and give the execution a swifter end. Some users of heroin were actually found with syringes still in their veins. No compounding pharmacy needed.

I hear Winchester, Federal, Hornady among others make lead pills that are highly effective for just this purpose.

Alabama is usually ranked 49th in everything bad. If it wasn’t for Mississippi they’d be 50th every time.

It is amazing they just don't flood a small space with a inert gas. Welders in ships are taught not to enter spaces that haven't been signed off by safety to have sufficient oxygen and ventilation. why? because many have died by inhaling the argon emitted by their TIG torches in the process of making a weld. They are not aware they are breathing a inert gas instead of oxygen which kills every cell in their body before they are aware of it. A painless but non the less efficient way to die. And dirt cheap. No shortage of Argon, Nitrogen, Carbon Monoxide. Me thinks the state of Alabama isn't trying to hard. Death by Industrial Accidents seem so much easier to come by.

100% nitrogen atmosphere will do it every time. No needles, no fuss, no muss, they fall asleep in under a minute, no pain, dead in a couple of minutes.

I feel so sorry for those convicted murderers and what the state is putting them through. It's horrendous and inhumane - not. Frankly I could care less about them and their discomfort. They forfeited any rights to dignity, compassion or empathy when they CHOSE to murder someone and now they deserve whatever they get. That's the problem with our country and our 'justice' system these days. We care entirely too much about criminals and their rights and not nearly enough about the victims and honest law abiding citizens.

Why can they put my ill dog to sleep peacefully and painlessly, but cannot do so with a murderer? Surgeons can remove a persons heart while they sleep then replace it with another. Why not just stop at part one?
