Because some moron will blahblah bullshit about "swatting," I'll address that first. "Swatting" is a dangerous prank... PRANK.
Breaking into someone's house for the purpose of doing them real harm, up to and including killing them, simply because you don't like their political stance is third world country shit.
I've never been more ashamed to be an American than in the past several years. I'm honestly glad I'll be gone before final hammer-stroke falls. I'm beyond grief for those who survive me.

You remind me of the people who would call expecting they could get their birth certificate at our local Recorder's office. Where were you born? Chicago. I would tell them they had to call the records office back there. Dont we have computers? We had to have every record there because computers! No. Some republican states have passed laws that early votes cannot be counted until election day. You don't want them to count invalid ballots, do you? I was one of those 2 hour places. That meant I had to have EVERYTHING tabulated. I did not count votes. I counted ballots. Someone else counted signatures. Unused Ballots EVERYTHING ballot-related had to balance & be ready to be picked up by the runner within an hour of closing the poll. Do you know how crazy difficult that was? Those ballots were taken to the Registrar's where they were registered as received & added to the early count. That isn't just a head count type thing, remember. Each ballot has dozens of issues meaning dozens of races. So everything has to be verified. What if John Smith voted provisional at 5 polls? The office catches that & disqualifies it. What if Jimmy Jones voted by mail AND in person? Can't count both, can we? ALL THAT IS CLEARED AT THE REGISTRAR. We are told to allow EVERYONE to vote If they are not on the roster of voters, they have to do Same Day registration which has to be verified at the office. If they vote provisional, that has to be verified. The 40 to 100 different people/issues that person voted on has to be tallied correctly. Does it not register how damned difficult it is? |

They are volunteers. So no, they don't need to get attacked or harassed or whatever by some asshole wanting to vote who isn't on the roster. People on the roster get a ballot, etc. If they are not on the roster they vote provisional (peach envelope). Ballot folded by poll worker so we know if someone is trying to slip a provisional ballot into the ballot box. On the back they put their name, date of birth, driver's license or social & THE REGISTRAR decides if they already voted or not. The usual excuse I would get was the person lived in East County, but worked in San Diego & wouldn't be home in time to vote in their correct precinct. The Registrar checks the home precinct to see if they voted in their district & that the ballot issues not applicable to their district are not counted. No, someone who lives El Cajon doesn't get to vote for San Diego Mayor or San Diego school initiatives. So sorry, an illegal isn't going to have valid ID to register to vote so even if they are allowed to vote provisional, it isn't going to be counted AND the back of the envelope where they fill out their information states it is a felony to vote fraudulently.
