I went into a large nearby town to give the car a run, check for mail and, most importantly, buy some takeaway from the local McDonald's.
On the way home, at approximately 0210 hours local time, literally on the home stretch into the little township where I live, I struck a grey kangaroo that was in the middle of the road. I slowed, but I had nowhere to go, there simply wasn't enough space or time to manoeuvre around him without going off the road. I hit him full on, with the driver-side of my front bumper.
It was quick and I doubt the poor bugger even realized what happened. From my perspective, it was a nasty fright and my front bumper is a mess.
