Here's just a sample: I have never eaten in Little Italy. It's more downtown than I usually wander. My bad experience was when we first came to San Diego, I'm plotting driving off a map while my husband is driving "Turn right". No, one can't because this is one way. That street is one way. I never had one way streets learning to drive so the concept is annoying. So I developed a bad taste for anything downtown. The closest I do is El Indio on India Street several blocks north of Little Italy.

They almost always end up being streets in 'downtown' areas where the congestion has gotten high enough, so the powers that be decide making One-Way streets is some sort of solution.

Boston's Back Bay area has streets that alternate one way in each direction so getting to a certain location could mean going a couple blocks out of your way to get back to where you want to be. It's a pain in the ass.
