Imagine if the whole thing was being run by a super brain. Maybe a computer with a really fast processor, maybe a hyper smart entity of some other sort. Maybe even all of us sentient beings combined on some other plane.
What if science was just a bit of lightheartedness to keep people distracted and really "God" just did whatever it wanted, typically leaving people under the impression that this was some sort of naturalistic world.
Everything you say, think, and do is "pushed down" from God. Or maybe, not everything. Maybe just some things and you can choose others on your own as it quietly observes.
