how stupid people are.
Well... how stupid the younger Millennials and Gen Z are, at least.
I've seen headlines for articles to explain why mourners are wearing black; why people who no longer hold military titles aren't allowed to wear military uniforms; etc.
The worst headlines though are the ones that start with a question, answer the question, but still link to an article.
Examples: Who is Lady Susan Hussey? The Queen’s lady-in-waiting and Prince William’s godmother
Do I really need to read the accompanying 400+ word article detailing where she was born and how she and Lizzie became BFFs?
How about: Who is James, Viscount Severn? Queen's youngest grandson, 14
He's obviously the Queen's grandson and based on his age, we can surmise that he's the child of the Queen's youngest child, Edward. This is not fucking rocket science.
Maybe it is for the Under-30 crowd....

Will you, please, stop griping about the state of modern education?
It's annoying to us who love and respect the profession. At least they're trying.......and that's what counts.

Even here on this side of the pond. USA TODAY Jill Biden criticized for wearing fascinator instead of hat to Queen Elizabeth's funeralCharles Trepany, USA TODAY Mon, September 19, 2022 at 7:11 PM First Lady Jill Biden is stoking ire from some social media users after wearing a fascinator instead of a hat to Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. Accompanying her husband President Joe Biden, the first lady, 71, arrived to Westminster Abbey in London Monday donning a black Schiaparelli bespoke suit and fascinator — a piece of headwear requiring a clip, comb or headband to stay in place. Fascinators are "often worn by women attending formal occasions such as weddings and events," according to Fascinators Direct, an online collection of hats and fascinators. You often see fascinators at joyous events, such as weddings. While they can be worn to somber events like funerals, the more accepted etiquette would be to wear a hat as a sign of respect. USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Biden for comment. Queen Elizabeth II funeral updates: Queen laid to rest alongside husband in private ceremony Twitter users were quick to call out Biden on the apparent fashion faux pas. Twitter user @woobs98765 wrote that a "big black bow in your hair" isn't appropriate for a funeral. "Why did she do that?" asked @jobaillie4. "That tacky headband bow in her hair at a state funeral," wrote @truthsoverliars. "This isn’t high tea." "The head piece really made my designer friends gulp," wrote @jijiipetti. "It's wrong all the way around, frivolous bow for a somber funeral" "why is jill biden wearing a party bow on her head?" asked @airstrip_0ne. Other users came to Biden's defense, including columnist Doug Sanders who said on Twitter that "Black fascinators are perfect appropriate funeral garb, by the way." "I see on the screen that Jill Biden has just entered wearing one," Sanders continued. Twitter user @_oftherisingsun wrote that Biden "looks so cute with that bow hairband." ======================================================================= While I do think a bow on a 70 yr old is not really the norm, it's black and not really offputting.imo I've never even heard the term befoer

Maybe we're just a couple of olde fuddy-duddies?
Or are our fashion tastes just a bit conservative/traditional in this regard?

There's nothing wrong with tradition in its place

Yeah, but some of us are talking about etiquette and some of you are talking about keeping certain demographics "in their place."

Demographics? Illegals?
I've stated on many occasions that I want all Americans to succeed.
Just as I would hope most people feel towards their own countrymen (or women.......or whatevers)

No, I support smaller Govt and the opportunity and methods that have allowed even a one brain celled person like myself to achieve at least some level of success.

Too bad your success came from the growth of government under Republican administrations and liberal social policies under Democrats.

I see it more as 'in spite of' rather than 'because of'.

That's because you can't understand "cause and effect."

I've seen headlines for articles to explain why mourners are wearing black; why people who no longer hold military titles aren't allowed to wear military uniforms; etc. I could be mistaken, but aren't retired officers of the Army, Navy, Air Force allowed to bear the title and wear the uniforms of their retired grade? Except for the royals, who are forbidden by strict tradition from putting on their uniforms, even after years of service. And, of course, Prince Harry, who was stripped of his military titles in 2020 when he and Meghan Markle opted to step away from their senior royal duties.

A life of duty and service. The reason Meghan didn't like it was because the only thing she's ever serviced is her own self-interest.
