Pa. school board member accused of sexually battering minor while on vacation in Florida

A Pennsylvania school board member has been arrested in Florida after police allege that he “sexually battered a minor,” according to WPXI.
Andrew Freeman, who reportedly serves on the Mount Lebanon school board, was arrested by the sheriff’s office in Polk County on Wednesday and charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, the site reported. Police said that a 17-year-old there told a family friend that the 34-year-old “kissed her, put his hands under her clothes and sexually battered her.” WPXI said the girl was vacationing in Florida with family and friends, including Freeman, when the incident is alleged to have occurred. According to the report, a “family member entered the victim’s room and saw Freeman nearly nose-to-nose with her.” That family member reportedly then began asking questions, and police say Freeman later told them “mistakes were made.”
“Andrew Freeman has violated the trust of his friends and the people who elected him to the school board,” outspoken Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd reportedly said. “I have a feeling that the people of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania no longer want his services with the schools, let alone want him near their children again. He sexually battered a child. What was he thinking?”
WPXI said the Mount Lebanon School District called the charges “very serious and disturbing.”

“The conduct described in the release is reprehensible and totally inconsistent with any community’s expectations of a school board member,” Board President Jake Wyland said according to WPXI.
