Long story short:
A makeup artist who works with the Jenner/Kardashian clan was in some sort of accident so Kylie Jenner started a GoFundMe page and asked for donations to cover this guy's medical expenses. The instant backlash was essentially: why ask for donations when Jenner could cover his expenses with her pocket change? Long story long
I get that. I completely understand that mentality since these women could literally fart in a jar and make millions marketing it as the best fragrance since Chanel #5. They've got billions. Why don't they spread the wealth?
Because that would be stupid, that's why. The minute they pay for one guy's bills, the next person is going to show up on their internet doorstep asking for a handout. Then the next and the next and the next....
And if they refuse to give handouts then they are back in the same situation as the above story with the onus of added speculations as to why they think one person was worth their charity but not the other.
Charity! Why don't they just set up a charity?
Maybe because then people would just complain that it was a tax dodge and there would be accusations about funds not going where they are needed and so on.
Rinse and repeat.
The real solution is actually very simple: The clan could have quietly just paid the guy's bills anonymously, but then they would have missed out on the opportunity to aggrandize themselves and lord knows that family is all about self-aggrandizement.
But isn't everybody these days? And if you can't tout your accomplishments and generosity (because you have none) the least you can do is bitch about someone else. If you can't be "big" on your own, at least you can always do your best to make others feel small.
