"If he was with us this morning, I would ask him the following question ... Mr. Bezos, you are worth $182 billion - that's a B," Sanders said. "One hundred eighty-two billion dollars, you're the wealthiest person in the world. Why are you doing everything in your power to stop your workers in Bessemer, Alabama, from joining a union?"
Bernie, like most other "socialists" doesn't understand that Bezos' fortune is made up of fake money. Jeffy doesn't actually have a bank account with that much money in it. It's all based on stock prices and those fluctuate with the market.
If Bezos allowed unionization at this point, it's likely that investors would see a potential reduction in profits in the future and dump the stock, thus reducing its value and Bezos' fortune along with it. Yes. I understand that Jeff would still be left with plenty of billions of dollars, but again, most of that is still just fake money. The ripple effects would most likely hurt the small investors who have real money in the game.
It's also the same reason why these uber-rich guys are always looking for tax breaks: they need to keep their valuation up so that their fake money values attract real money to the market.
If you want to topple the rich, the only solution is to take away their means of creating fake money: ban corporations and eliminate the marketplace for stocks... you know... try capitalism for a while.
And when I say "corporations" I mean unions too. Seriously, if everyone hates lobbyists that unduly influence our government, then the union lobbyists need to go away as well.
That's all a union is at its core: a lobbying organization.

Yeah. It will never happen. The cost of making people's lives better is too high.
