I understand what the critic is getting at, but I can tell you that Asian countries serve some horrible renditions of western food while retaining the names. I went into a Lawson here in Dalian the other night to find that they had corn dogs. I ordered a couple to go and when I got home I found that they were essentially a Spam-like meat product wrapped in dough.
I laughed and I ate them. I was hungry.
Here's the thing.
When Asian countries do it they are, "updating the dish to match with local tastes" but it seems that when white people do the same thing there's an outcry for some reason.
Learn to laugh, people!

I haven't gone out for fast food in over a year... My withdrawal symptoms are starting to get to me.
