abbey1227 - It appears I was right when it comes to the intentions of this media company... However, as always, time will tell.
You've got all that land out in the bush for them to form their own brand new commune
But I guess that'd actually take work and effort on their own part

one of my earliest chat buddies was a young lady from Canberra. A very nice woman who though she disagreed with most of my politics, was always nice enough and tolerant enough to at least see my side of things.
She holds very similar views to most of the stuff I've seen in the few Honest Govt videos
And what has she done or accomplished in the last 15 years or so? Well, she went to as much school as they'd pay for in AU.
Then she moved to Canada to live with a BF she met online and figured it'd be an even better place to live. After being deported from the country for not becoming a legal citizen or becoming a very productive one.........she's back in Aussie land. And still supporting the same old, same old "Take care of me from cradle to grave" policies.
So I'm back to my olde standby response to these kinda people.........there certainly seems to be plenty of you. Why not go out and start your own Co-Op/commune?
If you truly can't stand being around the places where capitalism and the wealthy are.......then remove yourself from that environment.
That's sorta my own plan once I've reached the age of retirement. I'll be looking to purchase a piece of property that offers nothing but privacy and isolating myself from other people as much as possible.

The people in the Juice Media have stated they intend to continue with what they do, regardless of which side wins the next federal election... which is what I alluded to earlier. As for your friend from Canberra, what has she got to do with the Juice Media? They have jobs and have led completely different lives from her. And the entire history of the single individual you speak of represents... just that single individual. She has no relevance to the individuals who make a living creating internet videos.

Have you considered Ruby Ridge...? I believe the former owner passed away recently, so it might be up for sale. PS - And I manage to isolate myself away from others, even while living in a small country town.

If you're coming from the more far left side of things.........somehow I doubt you'll be as honest and harsh with the politicians a bit closer to you. That has been the case here on shows like SNL or any of the nightly stuff in more recent years.
I totally understand and even expected that 'individual' response....... I agree. Just one person. But she is indicative of a seemingly entire wave of people brought up to believe that they know better than their elders and that their way is just the bestest approach to everything.........when they haven't really accomplished much themselves. Where's the cold fusion? Where's the free everything and 100% non-polluting products they desire?

1. If... let's see how the next federal election turns out. If the Liberals stay in power than the Juice Media will probably carry on as is. But if Labor wins, then we'll see if the Juice Media keeps their promises. 2. I'm glad I didn't disappoint. 3. You have to remember that from the mid-70s through to the mid-80s, tertiary education was free in Australia. However, then the generation of cunts who benefited from it then went on to deny future generations the same right. Oh... and "free everything" is probably only impossible under current arrangements... however, the fundamental changes to global society needed to make this possible are prohibitive and would never be allowed by those who benefit from the current arrangements.

I was coming back to add "And I'm well aware I am sounding like an old "Get off my lawn!" type.
You rarely disappoint. I'm sure you may not be used to comments like that.......but it's true.
The fundamental problem I've got with that last conclusion (while it may be true to some extent) is that I'm not so convinced a college education these days is producing much of value in the way it would actually provide those people with their Utopian dreams.

1. As far as I can tell, only Clint Eastwood is that type... and he does it so convincingly. 2. Well, it's hard to fail with the bar set so low. 3. Learning is a very fine thing... but I honestly think most people can get through life with the basics, which consists of a decent primary - and maybe a decent secondary - education.

I'm not in lockstep with him over every detail, but in general, I agree with his take on things...

it is so confusing trying to keep track of YOUR left/right after being indoctrinated with OUR left vs right for so long.
Redheaded Ranger? WTH?
One of the disappointing things Trump did not get accomplished, which should have been Day 1 and easy as pie, imo......... pardoning Assange and Snowden, fer chrissakes.
I do agree with this fella that it's tough to associate with the religious types.........but those hardcore woke types are even scarier. And just getting worse.
My opinion remains unchanged.......it's giving ANY Govt that much power over you that is the problem.
Then there's just the freedom involved in it all........I watched another Honest Govt ad regarding your country and EVs. They're pissed off because the Au Govt supports oil over EV? Well, isn't that just plain too much Govt intruding on your freedom to choose? Why would Govt mandates for EVs make everything better for all, to include those that prefer gasoline? I didn't realize Aussieland had all the raw materials to mine for EV manufacturing.
Keep out of it ALL, Govt! Let both the oil pushers and EV pushers offer up their best and then I will choose what suits me best.

1. Actually, I think it's a perfect indicator of where our two countries sit politically compared to each other. It shows just how much to the left Oz is compared to the US... and just how much to the right the US is compared to Oz. Our right-wing Liberals are pretty much equivalent to your Democrats. 2. Well, he's right about one thing... gingers have no souls. 3. Yeah, that and COVID and Putin and everything... 4. Give them both a wide berth. 5. I don't mind them having power... it's what they do with it that matters. 6. They're going to need a fuckload more infrastructure in place before EVs are a serious consideration in this country. By the way, "fuckload" is actually a technical term... just ask any tradie. 7. Buy a car that runs on duel fuel... gas and petrol or gas and electricity.

Have they come up with the means to build and pay for that infrastructure yet?
7. Excellent notion. It's what I did with my previous Toyota Prius C. And I loved it. I didn't need to be coaxed or mandated or subsidized or anything. Funny enough, my so called Liberal Governor instituted an additional DMV Fee on all Hybrids since we wouldn't be buying nearly as much gasoline. And I noted that the Honest Govt people griped about that, too.

6. Fucked if I know... 7. I've got a 6 cylinder duel fuel Ford Falcon parked in the shed... Gas and petrol. Last drove it in 2010 or 2011... although there were no additional charges for rego. I drive a 4 cylinder Toyota Camry, which, between cheaper rego and the low mileage I currently drive, probably works out cheaper.

As it should be........WHATEVER works best for you, whether it's electric, gas, hybrid........ doesn't matter. I want you to have access to it all.
They love pointing out that electric vehicles were around as some of the earliest autos......and they LOST to gasoline for a variety of reasons. Nobody has stopped anyone from coming up with a better mousetrap this entire time. If that variety of reasons was solved by some ingenious new kind of EV, then it'd be an easy sell to consumers.
I've been griping about my Govt not allowing me access to tiny vehicles sold overseas for years.

So, it appears that we now have a new PM. Here in the great downunder, we love giving people nicknames. For example, Scarlett Johansson became ScarJo, former PM Scott Morrison became ScoMo and so forth. As our new PM is Anthony Albanese, does that mean he'll become AnAl?
