Does the Kaukauna Galloping Ghost statue evoke the Ku Klux Klan? A group of students wants it removed. It's an issue that has a history. AnnMarie Hilton, Appleton Post-Crescent Mon, May 2, 2022, 6:02 AM
One story says a reporter for a local newspaper said the Kaukauna football team dressed in all white looked like ghosts galloping over the Appleton football team. The other story credits the coach of the struggling 1924 football team who supposedly asked his players to emulate Harold "Red" Grange, who played for the University of Illinois and later the Chicago Bears and was nicknamed "The Galloping Ghost."

Which people were being ignorant? in your opinion
I'm wondering why we're supposed to feel empathy towards anyone's attachment to statues? When tearing them down recently has been so trendy
I'm also barely olde enough to have even heard of Red Grange........ I can just imagine how people under 40 would fail to recognize a ton of things that are part and parcel with historic statues and monuments.

1. The people not knowing anything about the Galloping Ghost. One wonders how these people can still be offended by something that is probably covered in Freshman Orientation.
2. People are ignorant
