Human Voices is a place to talk about the multitude of topics that make up our lives. I've tried to keep everything simple and self-explanatory. Only the "Hobbies & Interests" category has been been split into sub-categories ("Indoors" and "Outdoors") simply for finding topics easier.
I'm hoping that it will become a vibrant online community. To that end, there needs to be a certain balance of understanding between the posters and a few rules to keep at least a modicum of order:
Restricted Words
You won't find any restricted words here. If the possibility of seeing "dirty words" offends your sensibilities then I suggest you stick to the boards that are less likely to engender harsh language.
However, to be fair, I would ask that posters keep their statuses, sigs, and mini-bios free from vulgarity.
Trolls
Trolls are part and parcel of the online world. In fact, they often provide the necessary impetus to deal with serious issues in a serious way. That said, I'm not overly fond of the type that add little or nothing: the "lol @ Dummycrats/Repugnicans" types. If that's the kind of poster you want to be, then your time here will be short-lived.
Serial reporters
I certainly want to hear about any abuses going on around the forum, but if I get the sense that you are engaging in "board vigilantism" simply to silence opposing viewpoints, then YOU will be the one who is gone.
Doxing
Wikipedia gives the following definition:
If you dox another poster, you're gone.
Covid-19
The pandemic is a huge part of our lives right now and tensions are high. I'm not going to tell you that you can't talk about it, but I want you to keep in mind what ProBoards (our host) has to say about it.
Mind your p's and q's or I'll mind them for you.
Finally, please remember that there is an ignore function on the boards. It's your friend. Use it.
