Dear President (for a few more days) Trump,

I would share some words of wisdom, such as, "If you find yourself at the bottom of a deep hole: stop fucking digging!" but I know such wisdom would fall on deaf ears as you are about the dumbest motherfucker on planet earth. As a matter of fact, YOU are about to become the milestone by which all future leaders are measured for their inadequacy:

"At least s/he's not as big a moron as Trump!"

That is your legacy.

But it could have been different.

You could have acknowledged the efforts of the previous administration for the growing economy and simply said, "And my Administration will do even better!" but you had to try to knock the other guy down just to make yourself feel better. It also would have helped if you actually had made some effort to make the economy better, but - let's face it - your economic policies weren't really about helping John Q. Public as much as they were about trying to get other leaders to kowtow to you.

You put $600 in Mr. Public's pocket then started trade wars that cost him $1,000.

You could have used diplomatic speech when talking to or about rivals and fellow world leaders and made your point and maybe even gotten some agreement, but you treated everyone with contempt and strained America's alliances to the point where the incoming administration has no choice but give in to the demands of other nations in order to gain any form of reconciliation. YOU actually made our position on the global stage weaker.

You could have been forthright about Covid and encouraged people to do the right things (wash, distance, wear masks) but you lied and obfuscated and now nearly 400,000 Americans are dead and the economy is in the shitter... for Mr. Public. All of your rich friends still seem to be getting richer and richer.

I know that your supporters would love to refute what I have said, but they know that they can't. That's why they engage in "whataboutism" and foment insurrection. You have left your supporters with no options for championing you other than to commit violence and hope against hope that they are on the winning side so that they can write a false history about your so-called "magnificence."

If you had actually strengthened the economy; strengthened our alliances; and kept the people of America safe, you would have sailed to a second term with numbers pushing into "Gipper" range but you chose to aggrandize yourself and not the people you were chosen to lead.

According to your supporters, you were supposed to be the "outsider" who would "Make America Great Again." You were supposed to "drain the swamp."

You failed.

You're a failure.

Should you somehow manage to stay out of jail between now and your dying day, I hope that you find yourself poverty-stricken and alone. I hope you understand that there will be opposition to affording you the standard niceties of your body lying in state or giving you a parade. You don't really deserve them, but I hope you get them because - if there is an afterlife - I want you to see how decent human beings treat indecent human beings. I want you to understand that it is not your dignity being respected but theirs.

In parting, I would like to say this:

Fuck off and I hope I never have to hear your name again unless it's to gain knowledge of your passing.
