2020 has been one helluva shitshow and, TBH, I don't see 2021 being much better (at least in the 1st half of the year) but I do hope that all of you and your families weather the storm.

2. Totally tongue in cheek. Because we're an infantile people that simply NEEDs leaders in everything we do. We couldn't possibly be trusted to figure a thing out on our owns. The problem with Big Govt is it totally ignores that it's sole reason for existing is to serve........rather than dominate and control.

I'm sorry I didn't go, an insider's tour would have probably been awesome, and I bet he would have been even better company. This was before all the Covid bullshit of course. When it was you, me, him, and Jill in PM on Jill's board, that was one of my favorite PMs. I always thought it was cool we were from 4 different countries able to gather together in one place. He was definitely one of the smarter people to grace us with his presence and wit on these boards. Reading some of the posts from the fuckwits on politics else-where, it makes me sorry I didn't post here more with him when I had the chance. Hindsight is a bitch. |

Sometimes, you just have to take an opportunity when it presents itself, because it'll never come again. I twice had the opportunity to have a video call with him. Both times others were meant to join us, but both times only we showed up. Both calls lasted for about three hours each and both calls just flew by and were done far too quickly. Where did the time go? PS - I also expect that as a tour guide, Jon would have been a gentleman and a scholar... in the purest sense. |

Yeah, it's here in my neck of the woods, too. It's about 5:30 p.m. on January 1, 2024. Last night I went to a small gathering that broke up at about 9 p.m. So, I got to spend New Year's Eve with my sweet critters. We heard a few gunshots around midnight; rural America's version of 'fireworks'. I share your pessimism about the upcoming year. I wish I could feel better about life in general, and ignore the ongoing Charlie Foxtrot of the world, but it isn't easy. |
