Libby is clearly a hot mess.
If you're living your entire life just one blown tire away from financial ruin.......... you're obviously doing things demonstrably wrong.
I'd say "Break a leg!"........but that'd clearly just lead her into more financial ruin.
Sheesh! Wait til she decides to bring children into the world on top of all of those other really difficult things to prepare for.

Says the employee that doesn't appear to have planned appropriately. Just like that other meme I'm about to get to When I started with the county they overlapped the new hire with the leaving employee so the old cod train the new. They scheduled overlap for breaks & vacations. We had a gal coming in for 4 hours around the lunch hours. Within a decade that was done. When I transferred to a different department the supervisor did an hour of training then left one to one's own. She is PREGNANT. THE BOSS KNOWS THIS. The solution is to give birth at work? So now just don't hire women? You're the anti-abortion nut. So if she were a dude going out for hip surgery, they would cover it? It's not like they can't plan to accommodate You think she's going to be doing all that much managing while she's concentrating on her breathing? You think maybe they should realize shit happens? There is always a chance someone will have a heart attack or get shot during a robbery?

That ACA sure put a dent in available hours, huh?
She also knows that she's pregnant.......figuring it out should have been completed months before the due date. Of course nobody expects a pregnant woman to wait hours on the arrival of cover.......but again, how was it not figured out weeks before?
Pregnancy is one of those ugly factors that you have to be careful around when it comes to hiring. I love this imaginary world people live in that EVERYONE should be totally happy they got knocked up......and that their presence isn't even needed at work.
I am not anti-abortion. How do you keep on missing that FACT? I am anti-planned parenthood and tax subsidization. THAT's my issue with PP and you know it. I've suggested having convenient mobile abortion clinics like ice cream trucks, fer chrissakes.
I've missed work twice in the last 5 years because of surgery. They figure it out. I didn't ven worry about it........just did them the favor of notifying them in advance.
Pretty sure we should all know where babies come from. It's not accidental. Exactly........and then what? Like and work goes on. They adapt. So why worry so much? Why pretend like your world or their world is gonna come to a stop just because you're dropping a recent fetus out of your nether region?

There's been much thinner times........especially in obese America
The point you're purposefully ignoring is that many people live their lives like this day after day, year after year and never make any changes or real effort to change it for themselves.
But you believe we're supposed to care? or change things for them?

... I was hired in 1987 I transferred in 1995 WTF does the ACA have to do with available hours? Like it or not, it was weakening unions Employers have been able to push things further & further. Look at Kellog. Strike ends after 11 weeks. Word is the scab labor sucked balls. One supposes she told them she was pregnant early enough they could schedule back-up coverage. Or allow her to take maternity leave. So you told them you had surgery & they accommodated you? So why not this gal? Dude, the Reddit antiwork thread is full of stories of people saying they have been told to report to work when they told the boss well in advance they had scheduled plans for a particular date. Or ordered to come in to work when the boss knows they have another job.

It was just the latest 'help from the Govt'...........didja forget about that 28 hours or more mandate?
Of course they have.........with 10% of the country here illegally, they had people over a barrel in quite a few areas.
Ummm, they just started hiring scabs.......like a week ago?..........how great and smooth did you expect them to be? It sure seemed to get that union to agree to terms though, didn't it? But yet again, did the union buy out Kelloggs? go start their own company? Nope........still just as parasitic as ever.
Why was she not verifying their plans weeks ago? Clarifying that she'd be leaving no matter what? Worrying about it at this late date? WHY? If there are no new bodies coming in the door, where do you get the bodies to replace those on pregnancy leave? We've been working a scant skeleton crew for over 2 years now........and the covid excuse has only made things worse.
Because she's a timid gal that would rather gripe online that demand an answer from the people she works for in person very day? YES, I didn't 'ask off'...... I told them "I've scheduled surgery for this day and won't be back until this time". They could have chosen to part ways with me if they wanted......but in this environment? I wasn't worried in the least.
And THAT's precisely when you grow a set and tell that boss that employment is a 2 way street. It's not slavery or a dictatorship. I've quit more jobs than most..........though over the last 20 years I've been fairly stable and consistent. I still never allow them to dictate to me.

My sister was just telling me about a dude who asked for solstice off because he is a Wiccan. The boss tried to insist. He said no, remember, I'm working Christmas for you. The boss sent him a Bible scripture. The worker also learned everyone else got a $50 Christmas bonus. He asked why he didn't get one? The boss said he would be making more working Christmas

a Bible scripture? That seems odd and unprofessional these days.
But at the same time, he could have said "You don't believe in Xmas, why would you expect a bonus?"
imo, if he's working Christmas when everyone else is off, his bonus should be even higher.

And the reason for Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. There is Hanukkah as well that Happy Holidays covers. Yeah, people advised the Wiccan to keep that email & contact Equal Housing & Employment. So this boss wouldn't give a Jewish employee a "Christmas" bonus? The Wiccan celebrates Solstice. That's what the argument was over-working Solstice

I never took offense to either Xmas or Happy Holidays........and you forgot Kwanzaa
Why bother? Those dirty Jews have all the money already anyway, right? KIDDING! Kidding! Someone from Q told me that.
I know, I get it. I just think it's funny. Firstly because I feel we already have too many 'holidays' as it is........but then, like allowing 1 you have to allow all others......and there's no shortage of people and differing beliefs.

Technically Christians stole others. Saturnelia, Solstice, In order to get Christianity accepted, they absorbed all the pagan Holidays. The gods became Saints.

I know........ I think they musta borrowed that idea from the Romans. You allow the 'natives' to kinda hold onto their older stuff, while incorporating your stuff along with it.

I would have bought more diet Pepsi if there had been diet cherry Lots of people are noticing the variety selection has narrowed. So a lot of cherry Pepsi, but no diet cherry Pepsi. Same on Dr Pepper. Had a "buy 5 save $3" on Pepsi & Doritos but one had to mix. Couldn't just get one (all Pepsi or all doritos)
