It's nature's way of showing that 'Fair' isn't really a consideration.
Looks? Brains? AND being that suave?
A little good luck never hurts either. Having the right skillset is one thing, but you still have to be in the right place at the right time to be able to capitalize on it.

Not a remake, a continuation of the story. I don't like remakes either. If the original was that good, that it earns a remake, then why does it need one?
Gotcha
I could think of a list of movies I can't for the life of me figure out why they DON'T have sequels......... Big Trouble in Little China, Mr. Brooks, The Professional for starters
About the only time it makes sense is if the technology and maybe better actors/budgets make for a better end result. The Thing is one of the few I can think of
I'd definitely like to see what Mathilda has been up to. John Carpenter's THE THING wasn't a remake, it was a reinterpretation of the source material. I like both versions... although the third one - the JC sequel - was a bit below par.

Exactly, she'd likely be very kick-ass
Reinterpretation? tomayto tomahto That third one did pretty much suck
Like the remake of The Fog
I was somewhat pleasantly surprised by the new Mad Max........but that was partially budget and better acting skills, imo

I think her "good points" would've been noticed, no matter what she did... Both of them.

No, there's a difference... they both very different films. I haven't wasted my time on the remake of THE FOG... I'll stick with the original. There's only one Max Rockatansky... and it's not Tom Hardy. I'll pass.

Aside from the idea and some pretty good creepy effects, the original really isn't all that good a flick, though. But it's still better than the remake.
But.....but......but......Mel has been canceled
You just reminded me of one I'd like to see redone for the sake of budget and special effects........ Rawhead Rex

Rawhead Rex JC's version is much closer in spirit to the source material... and easily outdoes the original. Has anyone told Mel? I watch a film to enjoy the onscreen performance... not their real life problems.

Yeah, that about sums it up. Of course, the big question for me is if the film is about someone who has an accident that leaves the paralyzed, how does anyone expect a quadriplegic or a paraplegic to play the bit set before the accident? These days, there's no reason not to be gender or race accurate when casting a role, for the sake of realism, but apart from that...

CGI, duh! If they can have Carrie Fisher in that recent Star Wars after she died, then they can have a cripple walk.
OMG! So you're okay with discrimination still? I know.......all there is to know......about the Crying Game

I don't mind if they use it to clean up a scene and hide production shortfalls, but even then, it should be used sparingly. However, it was used to enable the original actress to play her original role... remember what I said about being accurate to the source material? THE CRYING GAME? Well, there's no need to be such a dick about it.

That's what she/he/they said For me, the oddest thing about that film, apart from the "surprise package", is seeing Forest Whitaker, a black American actor from Longview, Texas, playing cricket...

Are you suggesting they wouldn't dominate the sport if allowed access? and somehow miraculously avoid suppression and oppression in the process?

No, there are non-white teams that have, or do, dominate the world of cricket, such as India and the West Indies. However, no one stays on top forever... so every few years, a new team rises to dominance... for a while.

Exactly. If it's something you love and aspire to....... you usually get better at it.

Though, it helps if your genetics make for an easier adaptation to any given sport.
After the first use.......is it ever referred to as RETARDIS?

1. That always helps... along with a good diet and plenty of training. 2. No... although early models were sometimes referred to as SIDRATs.
