is like listening you your wife explain a home improvement project:
"I've done all the research. I know everything there is to know about bathroom fixtures and their prices. I have made all of the decisions. All YOU have to do is take a few overtime shifts at work so that the budget can be met and then YOU can do all of the work yourself so that WE can have the bathroom of MY dreams."
And if you ask any questions such as: "Did you factor in the costs of the tools I'll have to purchase because we don't currently own them?"
or
"Did you notice that your new plan has us moving fixtures to new locations? Did you factor in the costs of hiring a plumber to put in all new water pipes or did you expect me to do that myself too?"
or
"Speaking of plumbers, even if I do somehow manage to run new pipes without flooding the house, did you factor in the costs of building permits and inspection fees?"
you get the response:
"You're just trying to DENY me my dream bathroom! Waaaah!"

As I've been watching home remodeling shows recently, this made me laugh too hard.
The ladies are notorious for the "Can't we just move that over a little bit?" ........ and "We need to make a slight change." ......days and weeks after the approved plans were agreed upon in these shows.
As someone that used to be involved in remodeling and construction........ I can tell you that is always music to your contractor's ears. Because it goes from the original quote to $Time & Materials to be added on.
