MSN/BBC News Minnesota man fined $12m for police station arson
Axios Jan. 6 riot caused at least $1.5 million worth of damage to the Capitol, prosecutors say
Washington Times Anderson Cooper: Capitol riot ‘worst single act of political violence since the Civil War’
So one of those events was called a 'mostly peaceful' protest?.......and the other is the greatest existential threat to the entire country and democracy?

And you wonder why I think you're an idiot and a racist.
"Mostly" means "not all."
The guy burned down a police station that's going to cost millions of dollars of TAXPAYER money to replace. I would have thought that you - champion of the taxpayers - would want to recoup those losses.
Are you confused about the discrepancy in the amount of money between the police station and the Capitol?
Really? You can't understand the difference between a few broken doors and damaged interiors vs. the loss of an entire building and all its contents?
I'm betting that once the defendants in the Jan. 6th insurrection get sentenced that the fines that they pay will be in excess of the amount of damages and rightfully so.
And yes, storming the seat of political power in a nation for the express purpose of subverting the democratic process is a lot fucking worse than the - very contemptible - Floyd riots.

What does race have to do with it? Many of the people caught 'mostly peacefully protesting' were as pale as me. At least one or two of the people shot by that Kyle Rittenhouse were as white as he was.
I do want to recoup.........but I know it ain't ever gonna happen. I can also compare the likely $Billions in damages incurred by the nationwide 'protests' versus a lowly $1.5 Million at the Capitol? Which was likely trumped up cleaning charges for the most part anyway? They had about the same or more expense back when Scott Walker first won Governor of WI.......and the outraged stormed our capitol and sullied the entire place.
I understand the difference and am pointing out how much worse the damage was from those previous protests......the ones you and the media seemed to support. Yet you expect me to join you in your outrage over Jan. 6th? That's laughable to me.
What a failed subversion........insurrection......... riot, whatever term you'd prefer. No deadly weapons? No piles of bricks or signs and weapons hauled in with U-Hauls? Aside from the one person shot by Capitol police......... it looks like a pretty typical Tea Party protest. (With the exception of that Buffalo Shaman guy and that Antifa member in the Trump hat, of course)
