R.I.P. Human Voices Board  ? 


It seems to have been abandoned. 
Will it totally die or is there time for resuscitation? 


Totally guessing  that  the Original Admin would most likely not be pleased with this current sad state of affairs. 
Nor would his awol/afk successor.

Starting threads seems to be pointless when no one adds to them.
Activity list indicates that members drop in and read but post nothing. That's not even taking into account the number of guests and post views. 


HV could serve as an alternate site to other less enjoyable locations despite no new registrations,  but it takes participation which includes active blocking of jerks and troublemakers by registered members and ignoring them by those here but unofficial and who lack the amenities offered by registration.  Without an admin nothing can be done about signing up and getting member perks like PMs and such.

Is there any interest in still using this site or is posting here just kicking a dead horse ?

I check the board now and then - but it might help if we knew who we were talking to.

Perhaps, but should identity matter with  threads which by no stretch of the imagination can be seen as open to  adversarial dialogue?  

One of the hoped for ideals of the internet itself was people getting together to share common interests without the social restraints created by being different from each other.

Way I see it, a stranger should be treated as a friend unless and until that person does something to warrant rethinking that assessment.
Regarding new acquaintances as potential enemies is self defeating.

As for spurring activity, use email notification to know when you get a reply.

And I'm even willing to treat old online "enemies" as friends if they'll meet me half way.
