People don't choose to attend drag shows? Even drag queen Story Hour at a library the parent or someone has to take the kid to the library. You seem to get worked up about all sorts of stuff you really have no control over.
I'm not sure you've ever seen me truly 'worked up'.
A public library? sorta like a public park, no? Might be filled with other people who have no interest in such things. Think of Drag Queens like Nativity scenes and you get the gist.  How many libraries have you been in? Outside of school libraries? Most have several areas. Good grief, dude. It's not like the whole damned place can see & hear the storytelling place. ... If a MAGA wants to read stories, they can volunteer to read stories. It is not in any way, shape, or form the same as a nativity scene. A nativity represents CHRISTIANITY. If you display a nativity, you need to also allow every other faith to represent so you need room for a Menorah & whatnot. Maybe the Church of Satan wants to pit something up. |

Really? What the HELL you on about? Gee. What are librarians known for? ... Shushing loud people in the library? So LETS BE LOUD READING A STORY FOR THE WHOLE DAMNED LIBRARY TO HEAR!!!!!!!Good grief, dude. Storytime takes place in one area. The rest of the library users can get on with their business & not have to be disturbed by the story being read. Storytime is for a small segment of the library users. Anyone can volunteer their time. |

Anyone can volunteer. Nowadays they tend to do background checks. They have to. We had one back in the 90s. They would start people telling them if the background found something, they would be notified. Pedophile working juvenile probation? Not good. |

I was brought up conservative, remember? Hippies were the subject of scorn & they were the embodiment of liberal. I think the Midwest is crazy suspicious of stuff. The conservative types out here have more faith in the system. They don't start militias to kidnap the governor. They hold a recall election |

The 80s was big on throwaway teens. Life happens. I remember tales of kids put in juvenile hall & the parents vanished making the kids wards of the state. Young flesh is premium.
