DeSantis, Without Naming Trump, Slams GOP's 'Hugely Underwhelming' Midterms
4 hours ago
As an independent voter it seems to me the republicans need a more middle of the road candidate than Trump to win the election. Having a relative small group of diehard followers will not win the election .

Same here as an independent voter...If Republican want to gain back their population they would definitely have to stay away from Trump for a better position in 2024.

This is all about tRump's ego. He knows he shouldn't run, but he simply has to. DeSantis is no better. We need leaders who put country first and neither of them are willing to do that.

President Trump may have a bit of ego problem but he still had leadership qualities unlike that nutjob in the oval office today. DeSantis has a state to run not the country. He would be an awesome president and would morally represent the country like it should be, not the socialist wreck of non-leadership these Democrats are displaying.

Trump loves the low IQ and poorly educated.

As a moderate republican, Trump’s conduct during the capitol riot, his insults directed against vice president pence and desantis should disqualify him from winning the GOP nomination. The Republican Party needs somebody that will get independent and swing voters not just their own party. They also need somebody younger and eligible to run for 2 terms. As well as somebody who conducts themselves Presidentially.

Listening to a report about how Republicans are going to dump the 1/6 Commission after they, likely, get control of the House. If they had any forethought to their own future as a party, they would continue the investigation, accept the Truth about Trump and say Mea Culpa, bury the guy into history.

I'm done with Trump, voted for him as President, now, he needs to go away, the GOP cannot
get its' message across with this egomaniac out there pounding his chest. Too thin skinned,
was great for this country, but, too much conflict, had good people and treated them badly.
It is time to pick someone that can help this country and move on.

I'm a Republican and I believe that it is time for the GOP to move past Trump. They say that "in unity, there is strength" Trump doesn't unify. He divides.

Congratulations to DeSantis. Trump needs to return to reality tv and we all need to change the channel. But the rest of our government needs to grow up, quit this is all my way or no way of thinking and come to middle ground that actually helps the people. No one in any of those offices atm are for the people they political and economical gain and expressing their view points, while not listening to others. Leaders are suppose to unite but our current leaders promote division and hate. In all the words that should describe our nation as in respectful, loving, caring, humanitarian, I'm sure I forgot some, but you will not find in any of these word's definitions race, sexual orientation, religious orientation, not even political affiliation. Because none of those things matter. Our leaders need to teach, preach, and show unity and love and caring for our people. Then we need to follow suit teach our children how to judge on character rather than race, sex religion, and political reasons. This could go on for as long as war and peace but I am stopping here because it saddens me to know that it all falls on deaf ears.

Consequences to our society for all the lies, hate, and division. Lies undermine trust. Hate leads to violence. And division brings us to civil war. For our children and their future we need to get moderates on both sides that will put country first. Work together for common good. Zealots from both sides are spreading their lies, hate, divison. Wise up to the corruption.

Interestingly, almost every candidate that DeSantis campaigned for lost their elections. Not just Trump, DeSantis is the Angel of Loss in Republican campaigns.

Those GOP's 'Hugely Underwhelming' Midterms" are a result of the GOP not having policies or platforms that America wants or approves of. this lesson should have been learned back in 2020 when Trump was fired by America, but no - they just doubled down and lost again. How smart was that? Do we really want people running our government that think like that?

We need a break. This constant political infighting is too exhausting.

Seems that the rank and file of the GOP are dumping Der Drumpfuhrer.
Pretty soon, I suspect our little Abbey will start pretending that he was never a YUGE fan of Donnie Dimwit. He'll quietly toss his red MAGA cap and other accoutrements de fascism into brown paper bags to get burned with the leaves.
