They got their dream of killing Roe v Wade so they need to move on to their next car to chase Honestly though, if people had even the slightest education in personal finance, SSI wouldn't really be needed by anyone other than the bottom 20% or so of the population... maybe less.

Social Security isn't SSI. Supplemental Security Income is for those in need It came out of the Depression. I would rather seniors get it than the Elon Musks, etc get more tax breaks. That might be the difference between dining on cat food (which is almost non-existant right now. The dog food side is full, but good luck finding cans for the kitties) & human food. So, yeah, life happens. For all ABBEY's "anyone can save" life happens. Often savings gets raided for emergencies. Healthcare happens. Maybe a person loses their job with employer provided health are, then they forgo seeing a doctor until Medicare kicks in. By then it's maybe too late. Maybe their cancer is inoperable. I am going to need that $1200 of Social Security I get from my dead husband. Cobra allowed me to carry on for 18 months at my employer's cost (plus a 2% administrative fee) or around $620/month. Luckily California extends another 18 months on the medical so I can continue for $615 so I will just have to pick up a year at full price ($1200/month) until I qualify for Medicare. I will have to pay $46/month full price for my dental coverage. But naw. Who needs Social Security? We need Universal healthcare so bad.

good thing none of that funding ever ends up in the hands of non-legal residents, huh?
We all know who you'd rather steal from and give to
We're having issues finding dog food around here......plenty of cat food.
merh, it's just this simple.......my whole life I've watched people (people who were poor) find all the money they need for their vices. But to be responsible? pay their bills? actually take care of their own children? Nope, they always need assistance for that unimportant stuff.
The thing about most 'emergencies' in a typical American's life is it's very, very predictable. You've said yourself......sooner or later people get sick. So why should most of these so called emergencies come as a surprise to them?
$15,000/year just in case? Man, that seems like an obscene amount of money.
It's not a matter of whether millions 'need' social security.......it's a matter of whether it's the wisest use of tax dollars ever invented? I contend it is not.
So many millions feel the way you do.........so where is their crowdfunded, co-op, healthcare network already? Volunteers, donations, etc etc etc surely there's enough to get it done by now, right? But no, nothing gets done unless it's at the end of a Govt bayonet. I had a moment of surprise the other night when a co-worker told me about some outstanding traffic tickets they had........they'd received a letter informing them that their HSA they'd forgotten about from years back had been confiscated in order to pay for the unpaid traffic citations. Nice, right?

Yeah the GOP is literally insane. Stealing money from the treasury (i.e. average Americans) to give to the super rich, then they blame the poor and middle class. And the the dupe voters buy into the lies about how it's all the fault of the working class and the poor who have been stolen from.

Much of that all goes away with the release of the police bodycam video. Where is it?
The guy is still an illegal, drug user, homeless, etc etc etc .......I'm sure there'll be more

Without the bodycam video, you're OK with entertaining the lies but with actual video of people breaking into the Capitol, you're saying those folks did nothing wrong?

This guy is exactly what Tom Metzger liked to suck into WAR. Easily suckered into acting on the leader's words. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
