The number "6" will forever belong to Bill Russell in the NBA. The league and the NBPA agreed to permanently retire Russell's No. 6 across the NBA. It's the first time a player's number has been retired across the league.

Really? I was too young to see his playing days, but he did a pretty good job on one of the early primetime NFL shows on HBO, IIRC

I've seen all the Superbowl reruns and a piece on their coach, Hank Stram. Of course his loss to the Packers is often a re-run in this area.
I didn't really start watching the NFL until about 1974-75
