I remember a bit, just a few short years ago decrying Papa Johns not paying enough and how little extra added cost there would be to raising those wages. Colbert was one of the many insisting it was very, very minimal.
Cut to today when I'm hitting up Hardee's for their Thickburger Thursday special.........the same burger combo that was $5.99 back then........is now $8.99.
Anecdotal example?

And I keep telling you you can't pay burger flippers $15/hr and NOT expect your Happy Meal to sail up to and past $10
These shortages really feel about as artificial at this point as this ENTIRE covid lock down charade
Start booting people out of their unpaid apartments, start cutting off their welfare funds..........and most of these worker shortages and product supply issues go away.
A can of Pepsi is less than 99 cents (provided you shop the sales)

Then the establishment turns around and says we can't have people making a living wage because it causes too many problems, and all the blind conservatives buy into it instead of taking a minute to think about what they just heard.

I saw that. I needed to hit Target for duct tape. Guy outside gathering signatures "reduce food prices" I asked what it was about. Gov. Newsom signed something that raises fast food workers wages which will raise our prices. ? I said no. They deserve a living wage. Guy just stared. I told him I'm retired from a union job & believe people eed a fair wage.

It's amazing how they are unwilling to see what a farce our economic system is, proudly proclaiming that they need to drive down worker wages to fix the problem. Once you reach a certain level of affluence you just become completely out of touch with the common folk. Then of course there's sadists like Abbey who just hate people.

Except they never really do 'drive down' wages. The wages simply remain low. As minimum wage always should.
Strange the same people pushing for this mythical 'living wage' are often supportive of Illegal immigration, too........which only helps keep wages low, too.
We saw that represented when Trump just threatened to start enforcing immigration laws, so more left or just stayed in their own countries.......and suddenly, wages in the US started going UP without any need for Govt intervention/interference.
I have seen the Govt bump the Minimum Wage several times in my life.........and every time, after it's all said and done, the average person making Minimum is further behind than before the latest increase.

Actually Jerome Powell literally said increased wages are the problem and they are going to lower rates in order to drive wages down. Happened last month. You can look it up.

You can look it up. 49ultra.com/jerome-powell/Powell makes $203,000/yr. $16,917/mo. Last year he made $200,000/$16,666 So he is above that whole living wage problem. So "wages" need to come found, though I'm sure not his own

I'm not sure what "a few short years" is in your book, but the minimum wage in Wisconsin is $7.25/hour and has been since 2008.* Since that is the case, I'm thinking that we can't blame increased prices on increases to minimum wages. Sorry, Abs. * www.minimum-wage.org/wisconsin

So a Left appointed guy that is stating that your wages going higher is a problem? Doesn't that seem inconsistent with them?
Don't they want you to make as much as you can make? Wouldn't that mean MORE money collected in taxes for Govt, as well?
I'm gonna stick with Milton Friedman's assertion that ONLY Govt.....printing money and spending too much, is the cause of inflation. And the only cure for that is people voting in other people that will make tougher decisions, rather than kicking the can down the road yet again.

You really want to turn this into a left/right deal? There is no left in government anymore. It's all right of center. The Dems are the new GOP, and GOP is just off the rails. Powell represents the interests of the rich and powerful i.e. right of center. And Friedman also said lazy fare capitalism needs strong safety nets. Yet you don't seem to talk about that much. Quite the opposite.

We can disagree with foreigners about what is right or left all we want........why not just refer to smaller govt as down, and bigger govt as up? Then we could agree that DC is filled with mostly Up politicians.
I've seen Milton on both sides of that. Some very minimal nets may be a good thing, but creating a welfare class and generational dependency? Not good at all. That's where we're at.

Big/small doesn't matter. Both parties have been big since WW2. We're the current world empire. It's not going back to small anytime soon. What does matter is who has the power. A few concentrated indididuals (right) or more even spread out to the people (left).

Is your governor to blame?
For young ladies attending parties? Why would even a little turd like Evers be to blame for that?
Because he didn't teach them well enough?
