I would think it's an easily agree upon point for most people.
With the exception of the Dirty Jobs types that still do some pretty gnarly work..........most of us? We're living better than kings of the past.
We'll still bitch, though. Just like me. I bitch about taxes and stuff all the time.
Work is still work whether it involves hard labor or not.
You constantly champion the rich from the past and present and the hardest work most of them ever probably did was to open their textbooks in their Ivy League classrooms.
Next thing, you'll be telling us how you used to walk 20 miles to and from school, uphill both ways and these kids today are lazy fuckers with their school buses....

You're awfully dismissive of the work involved with growing, expanding and developing a business......much less employing more than 2 people.
Well, as it was.......we met at the corner and waited in the cold for the bus. Now most of the kids are picked up at their doorstep as it's far too dangerous to expect them to be left unsupervised for more than a few moments
