1. For the benefit of all
2. That goes for the "left" and "right"
1. Road/Highway to Hell
2. Undoubtedly
1. And yet you speak so highly of your ability to treat others equally....
2. But it has nothing to do with what I said originally.

1. What's so difficult about it? Give everyone an equal opportunity to disappoint. Many will oblige.

And yet you support the party/people who would rather remove that opportunity out of fear that they won't.

“One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results”. - Milton Friedman Since we have already seen the results of such policies, I'm not sure why you think that quote has any merit.

It's just one of those quotes that does a great job of summing up some of my held beliefs nicely, I think.
I've got no problems with the good intentions or the stated goals....... I may even agree with many of them.
But I need actual results rather than clinging to the phrase "At least we tried' decade after decade.

Aaaah.
So, if an attempt fails we should just give up on solving the problem?
You don't want to discuss how it failed or why? You don't want to know if it was interfered with?
If you reach your leg out from the sideline and trip the guy running for a touchdown, is it his own fault that he failed?

Nothing wrong with an attempt. But decades of failure?
I'll let you pick from either the welfare state or the educational system........decades of failure. While other places surpass the US despite far less spending?

In either area, the problems stem from our 2 to 4 year election cycle and the "winner take all" mentality of the two-party system.
That's the "leg out from the sideline."

That's a good point....... I've said the same about administrations........and other countries merely biding their time.

America lacks the ability to agree on anything other than a concept.
"Can we all agree that our educational system is fucked and we need to fix it?"
"YES!"
Then comes the pain....
