I gotta tell you I love all the Monday morning QBing that goes on about how tough and brave everyone else would be.........meanwhile we see crime being posted on videos taken by bystanders that couldn't be bothered to lift a finger (other than to press RECORD, of course)
I really loathe this non-stop spin job approach to our world these days.

No. When the fuck did I support defending in the way your side claims? Biden didn't either I said we have slid everything into their job description & it needs to stop. We need a team with social workers, etc.for mental health response. Your side does the same with teachers. Dont just teach! Gotta be armed to take out bad guys! So damned stupid. A gun in the class would have to be locked down so a teacher would have to remove it from the safe location it's in to protect from any child getting hands on it so the shooter would just have to down the teacher first. Or maybe they could up the age for buying an AR type weapon to the same.age as a handgun (21). 3 yrs can be a lot of maturity at that age Saw a guy at the NRA convention interviewed saying the age should be 25 for that sort of weapon. It wasn't unusual for inheritances to be around that age in the 18th century. Hell, even 30. Parents thought their kid would blow it all on stupid stuff/gambling just set up they couldn't get it until the kids were more mature. |

that SORT of weapon is not really different enough from a ton of other rifles.......THIS is a major issue with politicians and people that do not know guns thinking they should write new laws.
Lemme just say this about this expectation of maturity at certain ages......... not too many generations ago, people were expected to BE adults by 18......now? I see 30+ yr olds that still haven't figured it out yet......and sadly, they're having most of the kids now. These last few generations do not know what real life, stress or responsibility is anymore.

They ALL tried.
And some DID succeed in places like Chcago and Washington DC...........NOT that it really helped. In fact, it usually made things worse. But then they changed the name of the DC NBA team, so it's all good now.

This is a gun they could buy from a Sears catalogue and have delivered via US Post. It was/ is a semi-automatic, high powered centerfire rifle, with detachable, high capacity magazine.
About 400,000 semi-automatic rifles were produced before WW2. Civilians had hundreds of thousands of these for 40 years, while US soldiers were still being issued old fashioned bolt action rifles.
The 1907 fired just as fast as an AR15 or AK47 and the bullet (.351 Winchester) was actually larger than those fired by the more modern looking weapons..
The ONLY functional difference between the 1907 and a controversial and much feared AR15 is the modern black plastic stock.
The semi auto, so-called "assault rifle" is 110 years old. It isnt new in any way.
The semi auto rifle was not a weapon of war. The government MADE IT a weapon of war 40 years after civilians had them.
The semi-auto can be safely owned by civilians. The proof is that literally 3 generations of adults owned and used them responsibly and no one ever even noticed.

Would you like to see photos of the Browning 1911, too? Semi-automatic handgun that just about everything used today is modeled after. When some inventions are just that good, they rarely get changed much.
