Murder is a slippery term, merh. You think Kyle murdered 2 people. I think he used self-defense to protect himself. You think a fetus can not be murdered because it isn't a human yet. I think a fetus is a potentially viable human...... I just don't care if that potential human is killed/ended. Cuz it's not my business.    And millions of other people think that abortion absolutely is murder.  I dislike the inconsistency of our Govt and science on this subject, though.

You're really gonna bounce back and forth between Biblical lines? It's BS or it isn't? Which is it for you? If there's a bit of nuance......and some of it's true or factual, does that mean it's entirely a worthy source? Or should it all be cast aside because you can find some issues and inconsistencies?

Remember, I am not a Bible thumper. One of the biggest problems I have with my one buddy that does thump his Bible is he believes that humans are extra special........ MORE special than everything else on this planet. Now clearly, after all this time you MUST know that is not my view at all. I'm much closer to Agent Smith on that subject. People are just another species.......more than likely destined to eliminate themselves one way or another. And the planet will continue on just fine without them. Oh, well

Regarding Adam, science tells us that we all evolved from single cell life forms. Who breathed life into those single cells? Were those single cells all that special? Did they have souls and innate value?

Is Roy's point that there are no other products marketed with any other holidays on the packaging?

The only crass consumerism I've seen for MLK Day is mattress & car lot sales.

They should have commemorative sales on ammo         Not because he was assassinated.......but because of all the gun crimes that usually accompany most of the MLK Blvds in the US

Some of you may not want to admit it, but for many people of color, Milwaukee is a “terrible city.”

When ESPN’s "First Take" discussed the possibility of traveling to Milwaukee for the NBA Finals on Tuesday, Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman, Molly Qerim Rose and Damien Woody quickly dissed the city.

Woody, a former NFL player, asked Smith if he really wanted to travel to Milwaukee and Smith responded with “hell no.”

Host Rose quickly jumped in.

“Steven A, you know what I just thought about. Which is actually kind of funny. The only two times, the one time I didn’t go to the Super Bowl it was Minnesota and this is the first year I’m not sure what our plans are for 'First Take,' but I don’t think we’re going Max and I, we’ll see. And it’s going to be terrible cities,” she said.

Those harsh comments hurt some feelings in Milwaukee, and people responded by highlighting some of the city's many amenities.

Don't get me wrong. I was born and raised here — I love this city, too, but if you look at the statistics for how people of color fare in Milwaukee, it's not hard to see why 80% of Black respondents rated the city "fair" or "poor" in a Suffolk University/USA TODAY poll conducted with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

That poll revealed deep racial disparities: More than half the white and Hispanic people polled said the city is “excellent” or “good.”

But consider:

Wisconsin has one of the highest rates of incarceration of Black men in the nation, and has the widest achievement gap between Black and white students.

Milwaukee ranks near the bottom of the nation's cities for percentage of Black residents earning $40,000 or more a year.

We have been labeled as one of the worst places to raise a Black child.

26% of Black residents live in neighborhoods defined as having concentrated poverty.

Only 27.8% of Black residents own their own homes, which is worse than 50 years ago.

Homicides hit a record in 2020 and the violence has continued this year.

Car thefts are up 193% for the year, and we have already passed 2020’s total.

When we sold at the swap meet I could see hard times coming.
When people had money they would buy stuff.
When times got tight, they would walk past. They were looking for bargains, but had no spare cash for trivialities. 

Times are tough, you have no cash to throw at strippers because it's going into your gas tank.
