Short walk to the street at 1AM.
My sister became aware of a brown furry something under the dresser yesterday.
I have 4 cats. 4 CATS!
AND THERE IS A CRITTER IN THE HOUSE?!?!
So I figure we need to get a glue trap since 4 CATS failed.
But tonight Loki was digging on an army blanket I tossed on the floor for Kili (midnight bathroom runs. Wheee!)
Yep. Deep in the middle, feet sticking out of a fold.
So I grab the empty soup tub from dinner, Clamp the 32 oz empty tub over it, then slide the lid under. Snap. Tip.
Surprised the little thing didn't have a heart attack.
Wondered if it would stay in the tub until Sunrise or if I would find it empty with a hole gnawed through the plastic.
Not worth the risk. Sort of like had I left the job to Loki. Cats play with their catches. I put one in the bathtub with Thor once. 10 minutes later I see the critter in the hall. Thor licking it ("Playmate!)
So up the stairs to street level.
Little thing hit the sidewalk. Sat there a minute. Pew! To the street. Good. Away from the complex.
What I get for being surrounded by canyons.

The size of that spider tells me it's someplace warmer than Wisconsin

So at 3am bathroom run I see the army blanket in the hall. I kick it back to in front of the door.
I wake at 6:30 to it in the doorway with Loki pawing at it.
I watch for 5 minutes. I pick the blanket up & shake it into the bathtub. Nothing.
One last shake before folding
Thump.
??
I gingerly lift the blanket from the tub.
PING!
WTF?
ANOTHER?!
Grab the empty cottage cheese tub. This time I show Loki it has been removed by letting her smell the tub by opening the lid.
I contemplate dropping it in the trash bin where the trash might keep it occupied until the truck comes, but my sister worried it would be compacted.
So I walk across the street to the south & drop it over the fence where it runs down into the canyon, sending a spider running.
My sister is wondering why they keep appearing in the army blanket. What attracts them?
I am contemplating magic portals...
