Based on a review from The Critical Drinker, I watched "Nobody" tonight.
Best line of the movie:
"Dad... you brought a lot of shotguns."
"YOU brought a lot of Russians!"
Here's the review from TCD:
90 minutes well-spent

Damn that looks satisfying... And it looks like the only wokeness in it is when some guy wakes up in a hospital bed, with tubes coming out of every orifice, wondering what the fuck happened.

It IS a satisfying movie. The premise is simple (if trite), the action is tight, and who doesn't want to see Saul Goodman kicking ass?

Picked up the DVD - along with seven others - when I went shopping this morning. Came home, put the shopping away and watched it while I had breakfast. It felt like I'd stepped back into the 80s... it was fucking glorious.

I love the bus scene the best.

Absolutely brutal. There was more tomato sauce on the TV screen than there was on my sausage roll. And Christopher Lloyd nearly stole the show on a few occasions. PS - I enjoyed NOBODY so much, I decided to watch a second film from the new batch. UNHINGED, starring Russell Crowe. Although I'm not sure whether it's a psychological thriller, or just a documentary.

I might just have to watch it again today before I have to go to class.

Then give UNHINGED, starring Russell Crowe a try. It's not as good, but still enjoyable. Although I'm still not sure whether it's a psychological thriller, or just a documentary.

And, if you haven't seen it, OLD, by M Night Shyamalan... Basically, two years pass for every hour spent on a secluded beach, along with everything that implies for the people present, depending upon their age and general health. If I were in my teens or early twenties, this would've been an intriguing mystery or thriller. However, as I'm in my fifties, it was nothing short of a fully-fledged fucking horror.
